In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and rock climbing.

Why Physiotherapy?

I decided to study physiotherapy after injuring my knee playing tennis when I was younger.

I was treated by a physiotherapist who not only helped me to recover but gave me the confidence to return to the sport I love!

I decided that I wanted to make an impact on other people’s lives the way my physiotherapist helped me.

Knee Surgery…

I have also experienced recent knee surgery.

The physiotherapist was able to aid my recovery both before and after surgery.

Before surgery, he helped me gain strength and range of movement to aid my rehabilitation.

Post-surgery the physiotherapist was able to give me the tools as well as the reassurance which aided me in the rehabilitation process.

I saw him frequently at each important stage to make sure I was on track with recovery.

I found having a good patient physiotherapist relationship was essential as it allowed me to trust in them and the treatment plan. This is something I will remember once I am a physiotherapist as I know how important it is.

I participated in a wide range of sports growing up. My main sport being springboard diving which I used to do at a competitive level.

Working at the Markland Clinic…

I am really looking forward to gaining lots of experience working with patients with a variety of different conditions here at the Markland Clinic.

The learning opportunities that patients provide are an extremely beneficial part of the placement. By allowing me to observe and get involved in their treatment I am able to improve my physiotherapy knowledge and understanding.

I also get to work alongside other Physiotherapy students like Caragh.
