Regain Control of Your Body

The McKenzie Method is tailored to you and your symptoms

The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® is a world renowned and scientifically proven method of assessing, treating and managing back, neck and joint, muscle and soft tissue problems. We are one of the few clinics in the UK where this method is applied thoroughly. This means we work with you to deliver excellence in the classification and treatment of your back or neck pain and soft tissue, joint, orthopaedic and sports injuries.

How can the McKenzie Method Help Me?

Assessment performed by our highly trained clinicians will quickly determine the best course of treatment. It is usually possible to classify your problem, and identify a specialised plan within the first one to two sessions. Research has shown a McKenzie assessment to be as reliable as x-rays and MRIs to determine the source of the problem. A McKenzie assessment can therefore reduce the need for invasive procedures and expensive investigations. Should mechanical therapy not be indicated, the assessment provides information on what alternative means of intervention or investigation may be appropriate.

By being actively involved you will quickly learn how to read your pain and successful self-treat. This will help you reduce your symptoms more rapidly and manage effectively long term. In addition it will reduce your number of visits to our clinic.

To Achieve This We Will

  • Listen closely to the history and presentation of your problem
  • Actively involve you in an in-depth assessment
  • Perform thorough analysis of your symptoms
  • Quickly identify if you require an onward referral to a Consultant
  • Identify one or two movements or positions that you can use to help yourself
  • Explain the cause of your complaint
  • Use hands on techniques to support for your recovery
  • Develop a preventive programme

The result - control of your body!
